15 second Delay Opening Web Pages

hi all,

i'm experiencing following issue windows sbs 2003 server.

when user types in web site url or clicks on link external site takes 10 - 20 seconds before see responce loading web site.

even after web site starts load slow finalise loading.

i've noticed particularly case overseas sites, local sites still slow.

downloading files fast enough, achieving 1.2megabytes/sec. varies depending on speed of remote site downloading from.

any appreciated i've exhausted knowledge on one.

thanks

ok, here's few things think should at

- stop forwarding dns requests default gateway!  more router , not listen on udp port 53 :)  forwarder account 5 seconds of delay.  happening server sending dns request server, server sees not in zone holds , forwards 192.168.10.1, 5 seconds later times out , sends request root servers.  occurs every dns lookup made (multiple times per site likely, there's 15+ seconds).  dns server default forward requests root servers if not hold zone.  alternately can forward these requests isp's dns servers, possible point of failure imho.

- take dns , wins addresses off of wan adapter.  isa server should query internal dns will, in turn, query public dns , return result isa server.  wins should available internally.

hope helps!
