Hyper-V Planned Failover "Unable to validate if the Replica virtual machine is ready for reverse replication.

hi,

trying carry out planned failover in hyper-v. replication working , there no issues that. when right click machine , select planned failover, check box "reverse replication direction after failover" , box "start replica virtual machine after failover. planned failover fails @ second step, "check replica virtual machine state" reason of "could not validate".

able go replica server , "failover" done in case main server goes down.

have ideas? thank you. have included image account not "validated" yet...

hi sir,

first please ensure hyper-v server in  primary , replica site running same  operating system .

generally , when replica vm in replica site want perform "failover" need shutdown replica vm on primary site click "failover" for replica vm on replica site prompt select recovery point need:

(i can not test case in lab , because have 2012 , 2012r2 server , different )

i suggest right click vm click "cancel failover" on primary , replica server  then offline primary server ,after please try failover vm without checking "reverse replication direction after failover " .

at last online primary server  manually reverse replication .

if above things still doesn't work , please try re-enable replica workaround .

best regards,

elton ji
